Calling a EE folks -- question regarding how to build a simple switch.

One of my friend was asking me about this but I couldnt' really give him a good answer, so I figure why why not tap the knowledge of ATOT!

So basically we're buliding a switch and I don't know what parts would work best.

I want to be able to use this switch to show three things, RC delay, contact dependance and temperature dependence. I would like to hook the switch up to something that we can change the speed of the switch so we see the cap. as a function of frequency.

Suggestions on what parts I can use? The contact might be tricky since I don't know what material would be best to show the effect of contact resistance ?

Thanks in adv!

Something as shown in this picture --

but I need something that we can alter the frequency of the switch ....
