The thread in question

Steeplerot has gone out of his way, for the duration of this thread, to denigrate contrary opinions in some of the most vile ways possible in a forum. I asked him nicely not to call me a racist and I got this in return:

And as far as the sobbing going on for calling the supporters of a racist bill racists themselves, then why are you supporting it? Its not that difficult of a concept.

I'm not saying that I want the thread closed or any punitive actions taken against Steeplerot. A gentle reminder that some words are more volatile than others would be just fine.

He can't help it, he naturally believes anyone who has an opinion that differes from his must be racist.

That's a damned limited view he's got there, Richard. He doesn't even TRY to take into account that some might be a lot more offended by that label than others. That's why I brought it up here as opposed to getting into a flame-fest.

Steeplebot?" Well, recreational accusations of racism SHOULD be viewed in the same light as dropping the N-bomb in polite company. Mod?

BTW, congrats on the healthy (and BIG) baby, al.

No one takes Steeplerot seriously.

Hell, I'd rather listen to Dave blather on about Neocons than listen to Steeple's canned responses in which everyone but him is a racist, sexist, whitebread, homophobic hypocrite who watches too much TV and doesn't get the same "real-life" experience that he does from spending his time in East Coast nightclubs.

Hell, once he starting talking about minorities (surprise) in a thread, and half a dozen of the forum's minorites basically said "No, that's not how we feel." And, of course, Steeple proceeded to tell them that they didn't really know, they were all just sell-outs and Uncle Toms, and he - the GenX Caucasion - "knew" how the oppressed minorites really felt.

Ask him anything. He's done it all. He knows how great and progressive San Fransisco is (he lived there,) he knows how oppressed New Orleans natives are (he lived there,) he knows how power-hungry and wife-abusing prone 99% of all cops are (he talked to one,) he knows how middle-class, Christian America thinks (he rode a train cross country and talked to one.)

In short, he can't be wrong. In fact, even in that one particular thread about Ritter and the upcoming "War in Iran" in which he declared that he would "be a real man" and "admit he was wrong, unlike us conservatives," he STILL refused to do such.

He's a tool. A mindless puppet that preaches hate and victimization from his pulpit. Even the legitimate causes he supports are hindered by his trollish responses and accusations. You can sometimes argue with him and see where you get, but in the end, the only thing you'll "learn" from him is that he loves the sound of his own voice and is a fool not worth suffering.

No one takes Steeplerot seriously.

The way Steeplerot's been able to do so much crap and not get banned... It doesn't really add up, but I prefer to stay unbanned too.

The best one is when he claimed to have picked up the bodies of multiple dead children (who were killed by neocon induced poverty, of course) and used that as an argument to ban firearms.

you can do that when you have a liberal slant to your ranting and raving. just look at how long dave has managed to stay around. this is one of the reasons that people get fed up with "anonymous" moderation, no accountability for what appears to be side taking. *shrug* my advice is to not enter OT or P&N and use the forums for what they are/were intended, computer hardware.

LOL, Steeplerot and McGowen are the best argument the conservatives can have because they allow you guys to stereotype all Liberals as whackos.

where do you see me labeling everyone as a whacko? the truth is that one side is allowed more leeway than the other. i'm not saying you personally do that, but i know it happens.

granted, they certainly make me move a little farther towards the right because i surely don't want to be associated with them, but there are whacko conservatives as well.

Hmm I missed that one.

How about his mysterious service in the military - which he often alludes to being special forces?

Or perhaps the time he witnessed two cops raping a friend of his at gunpoint (I think this was NO also). Of course, he didn't stand for his principles that time - "ran for his life" instead of calling internal affairs or the FBI.

Quite an exciting life he's lived for an over the hill Goth/Emo :D
