So I have the STEAM version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat, and I'm using the Atmosfear 2.1, and the Absolute Nature Texture pack. Well, everythings going great, running great, about 30 hours on this save game.

And then...

Today I go to load up the game... X-ray 1.6 keeps crashing when loading the save game... New game will load, but not any of my saves from Yanov. Well, after raging for a bit, I read that any 32 bit app that tries to use more than 3.8GB of RAM kinda loses it's mind. So I try again, and when it crashes I check task manager... Lo and behold, X-Ray engine is sitting at 3.76GB of RAM usage. Near that, every time. So I think I found the problem. See, I have a Phenom II X4 965, 8GB DDR3, and Dual Radeon 5770s in Crossfire. So what I need to know is... Is there any way of fixing this? Is there are CoP 64 bit executable, or something? I really like this game, and after playing it with the Atmosfear, you can't play without it. Does anyone have any advice on this?

Perhaps a problem due to the textures pack, I'd guess.

I for one never had RAM-related issues with CoP (I also own the Steam version). I play it vanilla however, I stopped using modifications for Stalker games since they almost always cause instability issues, in fact the only Stalker game I used to mod a lot was SoC, then I tried two mods for Clear Sky, one for CoP then I had to reinstall CoP and never modded it ever since. In your case specifically it doesn't mean that your problem is related to the mods that you're using, but I'm just saying that it's quite possible.

What I would recommend would be to try running the game for an hour or two, perhaps more if you have the time, but under vanilla conditions, no mods, just in-game options used and play it, try it like that first and see if you have the same problem. If not then I bet that your issues could be sourced out to the mod(s) you're using.
