Call of Duty: World At War

Me and some friends wanted to play system link between our two apartments and after we hooked it up, we were not able to play split screen.

Is this a setting issue or were the really so dumb as to not make that an option?

Must be an issue with the settings or set-up because the game supports LAN play. See here: Link

How are the two systems connected?

[edit] Also, which system are you trying this on? And can you clarify your use of "split screen"? Generally split screen and LAN mean two different things, but maybe you're wanting multiple people on each machine (i.e. LAN + split screen)? Not sure if the game does that or not (I don't think it does).

I think CoD3 was the last to have split screen over Live/Link, no?
That was a great game with 3 people over.

Two Xbox360's (not sure which models) connected via two network cables w/ switch in the middle. We want to have 4 players (2 on each box). When they tried last night they couldn't figure out how to put more than one person on each box.

They called GeStapo er... Gamestop and they told them it wouldn't work. According to site you linked it should though.

Nope, won't work. COD4 and WaW only allow one person per box if you are system linking or playing on Live.

Yeah. The whole Call of Duty series is bullshit when it comes to splitscreen. The only time you can have more than one person per console is for co-op campaign or Nazi Zombies (up to two) or up to four people for local-only, non-system link multiplayer.

Halo 3 is the best, with up to 2 per console for local co-op and up to four per console for online multiplayer. The only shortcoming is that you're limited to one person per console with online co-op, but I don't really like the campaign in that game anyway.
