Loading the game from the desktop can take up to 2 minutes on my machine. This is really strange to me as COD4 loaded so dang quickly. Is anyone else experiencing game start times like this?

My level load times don't take long at all, it's just starting the game. I have it patched to v1.1 and installed on a brand new hard drive. I guess I'm starting to wonder about the drive, although according to speedfan's SMART diagnostic and HD Tach the thing is fine...

That is definitely odd. Game starts up very quickly for me. Maybe 20 seconds or 30 total? That would be a stretch even...I haven't counted.

yeah something is not right here at all.It loads very quickly for me.Is there something wrong with your drive

Some games with securom have taken my system at least 1-2 minutes to load games. I have had about three different drives in my systems over the years and the same thing with all of them.

One of the worst games was Lord of The Rings: Battle for Middle Earth. That thing took a full two minutes to load the game, also, Need for Speed Most Wanted took forever too... There were some other titles, but I got so fed up that I cracked them.

Well, it very well may be Securom. It seems to have fixed itself, and like I said, I didn't find any errors with the new hard drive and according to HD Tach it's fast. Burst speeds are at 227mb and maintaining and average of 65.3mb/s across the spectrum...

This happens to me, but it's random. Sometimes the game loads fairly quick, other times it takes considerably long.

Yeah, just started happening again. I can load the game right away, play for an hour, then let it sit for a few hours, reload it and it takes 3 minutes. Weird.

Well, the only explanation I have for that is caching of the disc copy protection. The CD-ROM has a buffer and perhaps when you close out right away and go back in, the information is still there to be retrieved. Far fetched... Way out there? I don't know... But I truly believe it is the result of Securom and CD/DVD-ROM drives.

It sounds like the graphic driver issue.
D/L and install the latest the video driver.
Then see what happens from there.
