Call of Duty tweak questions

I started playing COD multiplayer again. And so I tweaked the console. I did the /com_maxfps 5000, to get max fps, and i did /com_hunkmeg 490 for ram. I have 512mb of ram. Will setting the fps to 5000, it stays around 140fps, hurt my vid card? And what is the default hunkmeg for COD when you first install the game? Will setting the hunkmeg higher do anything to my system? Thanks, Here are my system specs

P4 2.6c
asus p4p800
512 3200
nvidia 5900

Setting the maxfps to 5000 won't hurt your video card at all. Several tweak guides I've seen for COD set it around 1000, even though it's unlikely that you'll EVER see 1000 FPS. You might try setting it to 100 when playing online to see how it affects your connection.

From what I've read, the hunkmeg setting is only useful if you're running a dedicated server.

Use com_maxFPS 0 to disable the framerate cap.

Also your com_hunkmeg setting is bad as it should never be more than 3/4 of your system RAM. I would advise you just leave it on the default setting and don't play with it.

ok, how do i get it back to default?
Bring the command back in the console without assigning a value to it and it should say what the current value is along with the default.

and will it do something bad to my system to have it hunkmeg at 490?
You'll potentially hit the page file harder than necessary.
