call of duty mw2 question?

now i just bought codmw2 soo im scared to open the game because of all the negative reviews soo what im asking is will there be a patch available for all the negative things that have been said about the game like dedicated server, more players.
 
Yes, this is the perfect place to ask such a question, we have several employees of Infinity Ward and a bunch of accomplished psychics posting in this forum.

Somewhat misleading user name, eh?

Anyway, welcome to AT forums. The only real reason you're seeing any negative reviews/comments about MW2 is because they took away dedicated servers. It's really up to you whether or not dedicated servers mean that much.

edit: IMO, there won't be a patch to address the dedicated server "issue"... Because it's not a bug, but a design decision. If anything comes out of the PC gamer community backlash towards Infinity Ward, it will most likely be dropping the PC as a platform altogether for their next release as opposed to special treatment for being a whiny, lower profit margin user base.

there are already wallhacks and crap out, and IW has basically built the game to be at cheat-friendly as possible. this is the bigger issue with the game, not just pings or the absence of a server browser.
 
Any 'patch' released for this game if ever, to address the dedicated server issue will be crap at best -- it's a fail game as multiplayer go. Go back to MW.
 
Well, I've played multiplayer to level 15 and 95% of my games have been fine. One game got disconnected but most play fine.

Most of the whiners are those who never played the game and keep spewing the same shit over and over.

I can assure you it's not perfect, but the campaign is great, spec ops mode is a lot of fun with a friend, and multiplayer is good.

indeed. Was very enjoyable and really sucked me in for the entire campaign.

Any level revolving around the "Wolverines" concept just had me awestruck. The way they constructed those, felt like it could be anywhere.

I'm getting into MP now. Need people to play with parties.
 
I caved in and bought it last night. Played single player for a couple of hours and multiplayer for about 3. The single player so far has been expected, top notch. All though multiplayer was not as fun as MW1, it's not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Lag is minimal, the guns and perks are fun to play with, and the maps are balanced (no spawning into death anymore, no position is "safe" anymore).
It does however fall short of the player capacity. I know they say the maps are balanced for 9 vs. 9, but most of my night was with 6 vs. 6. That maybe just because they're trying to get rid of a few kinks in IWNET, but most of the time you will be just running around on the map looking for some one to kill. If you have adopted a run & gun hip fire style in MW1 like I did, be prepared to force yourself to adapt to a different style. Some might see that as a positive, but to me anything that promotes camping becomes quite boring. It does seem the finished product is more of an arcade game.
 
multi is k but like i said maybe there will be a patch to fix that and dedicated server but for right now i will be k for what it is.
