The opposite is not true of consoles, can't take my mouse to it.

That's the thing, even if they had the technical capability to support mouse and keyboard on the console version of something like CoD4 - they could not possibly mix the 2 environments (controller + keyboard and mouse). The keyboard/mouse players would simply dominate the dual analog stick goodness, it wouldn't be fair.

Sure it would. The players with a controller, could buy a mouse+kb too. Im tired of this excuse for not wanting better controls.

Fuck that. I'd be willing to bet that 95% of console gamers have no comfortable way to use a keyboard and a mouse in their normal gaming environment. Why should consoles conform to idiotic PC gamers? If you don't like controllers, then stick with your PC. Us gamers who enjoy being comfortable on their couch with a single controller that is easy to use if the developer does it right, we'll stick with our consoles.

Amen!

damn, i wish i could play an FPS on console like that. if it was me playing, it would look like my character was having seizures...

Just force yourself to play...you'll get it. I had the same opinion at first...took me a while to switch...now I don't even play games on the PC anymore.

god, why the hell would you get this on a console. If the concern is hardware, most mainstream pc's have no trouble playing COD4 now, just a beefed up q3 engine. For me the pc versions worth it just for filtering out most of the kiddies. Mouse aim, dedicated servers, and $10 cheaper cost doesn't hurt either.

this.

the only thing I dislike more than FPS is FPS on a PC.

my old LCD TV I used for a monitor ran 720p, and text looked bad if I didn't enable clear type. Projector would be totatlly bad ass for shadow puppetts though so props for that.

text is not the same. plenty of projectors run 720p, and are quite gorgeous. 1080p is till quite a bit pricey for projectors.

it's irrational to compare text for computing purposes at 720p vs 1080p and think that is somehow relevant to gaming/movies/whatever at 100" 720p.

i dont.

i'd much rather play any game on a console, using a controller, than on a pc using kb/m.

now before the pc fanboys get their panties in a bunch, just keep in mind nowhere did i say that a controller is more precise. that always seems to be the comeback to that comment.

and it's better than carpel tunnel, that's for damn sure 😉

Ugh, why don't you go somewhere and see a game running in 720p on a 100" screen before mouthing off about stuff you know nothing about. The only way it'd look "like ass" if you stuck your nose into it. I sit about 15 feet away and it looks friggin sweet.

Go to newegg.com

LCD TV's of 40-49" available in 720p = 4
LCD TV's of 40-49" available in 1080p = 34

This might suggest some sort of relationship between size, and pixels...the correlation can be deceiving...

more pixel good. less pixel bad. less pixel and big pixel: real bad. less pixel and big pixel + shadow puppetts....pretty effing bad...but funny 🙂

Mr. 15925 posts must be communicating to us via analog sticks. Repetition is biggest culpret in carpal tunnel. Am I convinced a 17 year old gamer who plays games all day gives a shit about carpal tunnel. no.

As I said, the most important point here is the OPTION to use a gamepad on pc should that be your preference.

aliasing is inherit with low resolution presentations, doesn't matter that it's txt on the screen, or a game.. If you don't believe higher resolutions play a significant roll for your standard movie/game presentations, go ahead and roll back to 480p and enjoy your jaggies.

if they really want people to play this game all the time, over time, they need to implement
4-player split screen online. Halo3 has millions of people playing online while CoD4 only has hundreds of thousand due
to the fact that no one wants to play CoD4 when friends are over.

This feature would definitely be awesome.

Because I can play it on my 100" projector screen at 720p. Is that good enough of a reason?
The whole "@720p" thing is pretty LOL.
It is alot nicer to be able to sit down and relax.I had a hard time with cod4 on pc due to the monitor amking my eyes hurt since i have to sit so close to it.

This is a console buy for sure

I'd take a good 720p projector over any computer monitor for gaming,no contest.Ran through COD 4 (pc) @ 1080p on a 123" screen, shits unreal. Computer monitors are great for surfin the net or photoshop but when it comes to gaming........nah,I feel like im playing on a portable.

4 player split screen was pretty awesome in 98 when I was playing 007, but you couldn't pay me to play that way now.

10 foot screens are fucking silly...

This games' most likely a release day buy for me anyway, but if they give us this, I will be a very happy camper--and so will my friends. 🙂

What's fucking silly is that you keep thread-crapping in a desperate cry for attention.

Piss off already.

Seriously, what's up with the console hate? Nothing regarding platforms was discussed and then the two jokers come in and start spewing crap. I hope Queasy comes in and regulates.
