call of duty death causes slowdown

I picked up call of duty to play on my computer, and it's humming right along nicely with most everything maxed out, until I die. Then when the game reloads, everything is slowed down and the fps is terrible. I have the latest version, anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Just out of curiousity, what power supply?

For some reason, call of duty united offensive will do that on even powerful computers if you have everything at Maximum texture quality. Turn everything down to high and that should take care of it.

Also, like amdskip asked, what brand/wattage of power supply?
