Activision CEO Bobby Kotick claims it will be the biggest launch in the company's history, and he hinted that Black Ops will not only be for hardcore gamers.

Lol, CoD is probably the most casual shooter out there except for TF2

yet when it's released, it will be the most talked about game on this forum, even by people who supposedly hate it. :awe:

hopefully we will only allow 1 thread for the game and all others will be locked up ala starcraft 2.

I only buy the Infinity Ward CoD's. Pass.

How's MW2?

Anyways, Treyarch has had amazing support for the PC community for as long as can be remembered. Cod5 turned into a great game after many patches, but it was too little to late, and the condition the game was in at release killed it before it had a chance. Black Ops is their chance to shine doing something other than WW2, and I for one think it will be a much better game than MW2.

MW2 was ok, but Treyarch's games tend to be a bit more consolized than Infinity Ward's (which are, of course, becoming more dumbed-down by the minute). There was no leaning in MW2, which bothered me, and the single-player campaign was disappointingly short.

Yea, people are dumb.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, for all that people bitched and whined like little girls about, was an excellent single player play through, much like MW1.

Yes well that's never going to happen again so...

I am looking forward to giving black ops a try. I have been playing MW2, but it's annoying in a lot of ways. Hopefully BO will breathe new life into the series. Dedicated servers will be a big plus, since the lack there of is a big downfall for MW2 currently. I'm sure it's going to be a toss up between BO and Metal of Honor...

The videos I have seen of MoH looks sweet (and I guess that's what they are supposed to do), but I hear otherwise from people playing the beta.

Same here. The video's look good, but then again I have not really seen any videos of BO to set it apart.

I say "meh" now, but in reality I've had a ton of fun with each of the last 3 COD games (COD4, WaW, and MW2). I don't particularly like the stagnation of the game and its yearly releases, but I'll probably be playing it anyway.

I think it will be awesome. People talk crap about Treyarch but they've been doing a lot better and WaW was almost up to IW quality IMO.

However the new MoH also looks sweet (not sure on the MP of it though) and I don't want to be buying both at full price.

That's because other retarded developers are making shit like Crysis, that I felt bad I paid $10 for.

yeah, it was great wasting all that money when I could have gone to a movie, which took almost the same amount of time, for way less.

if the campaign wasnt near as retarded and short, I would like the game more

Sorry, but I have to disagree. The single player campaign in MW1 was coherent and made sense. MW2 was the most disjointed, improbable storyline I have ever seen. Could one man really take over a nuclear sub and launch a missle?? And troops landing in the US. Sorry but the movie Red Dawn and the game World in Conflict have already done that. The "campaign" in MW2 was nothing more than a series of strung toghether arcade style episodes that overall made no sense.
And dont get me wrong. COD was once my favorite franchise, and probably still is, but MW2 was an extreme disappointment, both for the single player and multiplayer.

I used to play fps exclusively but the genre is stale. We need some kind of innovation, what that is I haven't a clue but we need it.

All this cod talk just makes me want to find and install cod1 for the multiplayer.

Can't find myself caring much. Haven't bought COD5-2 yet, even with the current gogamer sale, and with the DLC crap they're releasing it looks to be awhile till the final platinum edition is released.

MW2 was a huge hit and now they've basically added stuff on top of it like dedicated servers that people whined about and *now* you won't buy it?

No wonder why PC games are getting more console-ized. That's what you guys buy.

Nope but it sure as shit makes a big improvement. Not to mention it is pretty much an expected feature of any modern online FPS. The lack of in MW2 is just sad.
