Seems pretty reasonable except for the 6GB of ram. Seriously, what is with the ram and vram requirements. I played Ghosts, and I dont think it ever went over 3gb of system ram total. Oh, yea the hard drive space is ridiculous too, but HDD space is cheap, unless you are trying to run the game from an SSD.

A lot of pundits are saying that this will be a true "next gen" COD. I'm waiting for reviews....

Kevin Spacey is awesome though!

A gts450 is in a whole other class then a 5870....i think they just slap the most random stuff on the minimum requirements and say well that should do it.

They did this big time with Titanfall, they call for a 512mb 9800gt and well my 1gb gtx650 on the absolute lowest settings tanks well into the 30s in big battles.....

This new COD is most likely gonna use the same exact engine found in the first Black Ops and well i could max out the menu settings at 768p and sustain well over 70fps....why the new ones suddenly tank so much is beyond me.

No recommended specs yet, interesting. Also, GTS 450=5870?
They're still making more of these ?

Considering the money it makes them, I'm surprised they haven't tasked 6 studios to launch one COD every 6 months instead of 3 studios for the annual cycles they are on now.

I don't mind 55GB, I would get 100GB games too, even if it means I have to carefully manage my bandwidth the rest of the given billing cycle to avoid going over the cap. The point is I expect something in return for requiring the disk space. Content quality or quantity at least, hence why BF4 gets a pass and other games don't.

Here is a sneak peek at reviews:

I don't care about the HDD space requirements, a 1TB drive is 50 bucks. But that download is going to suck for the majority of people; any cut scenes, language packs, etc, should be arranged as separate downloads. We will be seeing more large install sizes too, those HD textures and cut scenes aren't tiny. Get used to it.

Likewise with the 6GB RAM requirement; RAM has been very cheap and now that we're finally seeing full 64bit engines, expect to see more 4GB+ requirements. I've been telling people at /r/buildapc that a budget gaming build will start at 8GBs for months now, with 16GBs being my recommendation for the less cash strapped.

Pretty sure I posted about both both of the above in some threads I started months ago relating to system requirements spiking after the release of the 8th gen consoles. People were bitching that their old Core 2 Duo based XP machines were being left behind and it was pissing me off.

That video card requirement has to be a typo though. A GTS 450 is less than half as fast as a 5870; they aren't even in the same ballpark.

ROFL textures. Its uncompressed audio due to rubbish consoles, the devs think the APU can't hack compressed audio (and who knows, maybe it can't).

PS4 and Xbone both have dedicated audio DSPs. Unfortunately, not every PC does these days so it means having the CPU waste power on it (and not everyone has an i7 monster rig) or having it decompressed on the HDD. I'm surprised no one is supporting AMD's True Audio on PC considering the DSP in both consoles is likely some version of it.

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... I have a really high data cap now unlike when I bought Ghost and blew my cap, but 55 GB? Come on.

I am happy to hear that we have a game using lossless audio. But now that everyone has demanded it ... I guess they're going to compress the audio later into lossy with no way to get the original lossless back.

They are gen purpose DSPs used for audio. a system with a 4790k could do it fine if the devs were willing

Then buy a console? All those previous games, the sound worked just fine (apart from some crappy mixing), why uncompressed audio now? Crappy Core 2's from 2007 can't keep up? REALLY? Bloat up a game 10-20GB for legacy crap? Its 2014 now, if your box can't keep up with decoding audio whilst gaming its time for a new one.

Yeah DSP argument doesn't make sense, plenty of games have delivered great audio and video at much smaller footprints. Also this game is on on the 360 and PS3 too. TF explanation for sound files bloat was BS too. Textures and content amount are plausible for games like BF4, COD..no, not really.
If I had to guess since no plausible bloat explanation has been made and proof of great PC visuals has yet to emerge, it's just a anti piracy move. They probably figured that they can deter 10% from pirating by having the game weigh in at 50GB+ then swindle half of that 10% to buy it. Bobby Kotick= eye of Sauron.

Already played this game 3 or 4 times now I think.
LOL. This ^

I've heard that several times and am beginning to wonder if it's true. If "next gen" consoles genuinely don't even have enough overhead to manage what 1990's games could on 500Mhz single-core CPU's, just kill them off already and replace them with "next next gen" brought forward 5 years early...

Either that or as Rick James Astley said, it's being done deliberately on the PC to discourage piracy (which wouldn't surprise me). Either way it's a massive screw up for PC gamers who tend to own SSD's and are basically installing a 10-15GB game with 35-40GB of "padding".

Wow this franchise is being milked for every penny! Honestly, I don't understand how people keep paying for this trash.

Data cap? What on earth are you talking about? Some 3rd world countries have artificial limits how much can you download with your cable/fiber/mobile internet connection?

Seriously, north america, get your ISPs under control ASAP.

Lossless audio is also a contributor to the massive sizes, but moving from 256KB textures to 2048KB textures on everything increases the size massively.

Consoles; holding back gaming since their creation. :(

We're . . . trying, seriously, we are . . . but telco lobbyists can throw around billions dollars in incentives and utterly destroy the careers of politicians who don't vote how they're told.

I have a 250GB cap per billing cycle, it's not that hard to go near or over the cap when you add regular web usage and Netflix on top of downloading games. None of this is COD's problem but it's an added incentive to speak out against huge files that don't deliver. Like I said earlier, I am cool with 100GB games, even if l have to cut down my usage and watch 240p videos til the cap resets. As long as the file size is justified.

I haven't hit the cap yet but did pass the 200 GB mark twice. Imagine the peasantry of arranging parties according to how many buckets of bandwidth you have left in that given billing cycle. :|

Going this far off topic makes it clear just how much I hate COD now. Believe it or not, I used to love this game, a long time ago.

55GB? Why do I always think Bluray filler and why do we PC users have to download all that. Its either laziness or the latest in anti pirating.

I don't see the logic in that, quite the opposite. A large install size for silly reasons will only push people to pirated versions that cut out unneeded local languages, cut scenes, etc.
