Call of Duty 3 not planned for PC

Hmmm. Looks a lot like COD2. I was expecting more from a also PS3 title.

Either way, I won't know since it won't be out for PC.

Big bummer. I hope developers don't continue to leave PC gamers out in the cold -- Crysis could be the end for us...

It's only one game, there's plenty for PC that doesn't come out on consoles. And as long as PC is the _only_ way to play strategy and FPS games, there will be demand.

Yes I know you can play FPS on consoles, but the controls and the fact that you sit close to the action make the PC superior IMO. Plus my system with an overclocked x1900xt is capable of significantly better visuals than xbox 360. Can hardly imagine how much better it is with 2 (!) of them like you OP.

I havn't heard anything factual in this regard, only speculation. There is very little reason to create a cross platform title for the xbox360 and not port it to the PC.

Meh, all the CoD games thus far have been lame shooters at best. My strongest memory from CoD1 is taking fall damage walking down stairs. :|

First, let me say that I've owned practically every major PC FPS title released in the past ten years. So don't assume that I am a console fanboy.

Second, I don't have any issue with console FPS controls. Yes, a mouse is more accurate for aiming. But I'm not in a competition for money or gold medals. It's just a game. Same goes for racing games... I still have plenty of fun with them despite not owning a racing wheel.

Third, developers are still new to 360/PS3 hardware. The best-looking games for either right now will likely be eclipsed by a later release, because devs will be familiar with the controlled atmosphere.

Finally, I've traded away several PC FPS's for "lesser" console titles (even in cases with diminished graphics such as Doom 3) because I prefer playing on my large, widescreen LCD on my sofa as opposed to my PC/desk/computer chair. If sitting at a PC is intimate, then my sofa is cinematic.

Just playing Devil's advocate.

Yea, I prefer racing games with an analog controller to keyboard, probably even to a wheel. The thing is, I can easily plug a console gamepad into the PC, but you can't plug a mouse into an Xbox.

if its scheduled for X360 (which is nothing but a PC in disguise anyway) there will most likley be a PC port...

I thought that CoD was a really good WW2 shooter. I think it's the best out there, but thats just IMO.

I thought it was the most overrated.

CoD: UO has been the best....

Single and especially Multi-player with Base Assault.

They fvcked up with COD2 BIG time, and I'm glad COD3 is not for PC cause I'm sure they are going to fvck that one up too. Let me guess, EA this time?

danny~!

As illogical as it may be, this is the main reason for my hate of consoles (not that I care about the CoD series in particular; CoD was good, but you can only play through WWII so many times...).

If console developers would embrace the mouse/keyboard combination, or an adequate substitution (interested to see how well the wii controls fare in this area), en masse (because I know there is hardware like that out now), then consoles would be perfectly well suited for any type of gameplay.

Personally, I'd love it. Gimme a new Xbox every few years so I don't have top care about upgrading my various PC hardware, and my current computer would probably suit my needs perfectly well for enough years for all the hardware to live out its natural lifespan.

As it is currently though, I only game on PC because those are also my game styles of choice.

if you come here and scold us about this being old, are you not by extension telling us to shut up and not to repeat old crap? See the logic? Prob not. I find it ironic that you called me an a-hole with no provocation.

remember thats what people said about the original xbox. and that its games would be hacked onto the pc in months.... still waiting.... so theres no garrantee. if the 360 is just a pc in disguise, then you'd better say that about all consoles, because its quite different. what windows pc do you have that runs a triple core powerpc processor? the way u said it makes me think ur still stuck thinking about xbox1
