Call of Duty 2 Issues with C2D

Recently I've tried to play Call of Duty 2 again, but I get really jerky graphics if I patch the game to version 1.3. Before that, gameplay will be pretty smooth, but it will throw weird errors during single player gameplay and kick back to the main menu. Is anyone else with a Conroe rig experiencing these issues with this game?

Gigabyte GA-965-DQ6
2 GB PC2 6400
PNY 7800GT (Game came with the card, heh)

The only problem I'm having is random black flashes during gameplay which is likely an nVidia driver issue.

Have you updated your GPU drivers?

Yeah I have, this is after I newly formatted as well as before a format. Both had same drivers.

I just finished CoD2 with my C2Duo and it flew at really high FPS, but then again, I'm using the nForce 680i chipset, perhaps that has something to do with it? Does Gigabyte have new drivers/bios for your board?

No issues with E6400@3.2 on a Gigabyte 965P-S3. 7600GT. Almost Max settings 1280x1024 (low or no AA). No slowdowns, chugging or visual issues at all. Dunno what patch level though, not at home to load it up and look.
