When i enable DX9 suddenly the screen goes blank and i get an error message saying:

irectX Error DirectX has encountered an unrecoverable error. Please check DirectX Help document for possible details.

I have a GeforceFX graphics card, and am running DX9.0c. Is anyone else having this problem? If it wont run, ive just begun ordering my parts for my new computer, so no worries, but i kinda want to play the game with some Pixel Shading :p ...no more of this DX7 stuff.

Whats the specific model of your nVidia card? Are you sure its compatible with that version of DirectX?

Xtreme G 81.84

Now it isn't just DX9. I restarted and everything seemed to be working. Now it just happens sporadically. Restarting does nothing. I checked all temps and voltages and nothing is anywhere close to out of spec there. Not sure whats going on.

I haven't heard anything but perhaps the 81.84's are not good for CoD2...i think they have 81.85 and 81.87's out there, ill see about downloading those when i get a chance.

Use the newest official one's from Nvidia, the 81.85's. I'm using them with my 6800 and directx 9 runs with no crashing on my card. However....do NOT expect to play multiplayer in that mode. Even with my card it's way too laggy in multiplayer, but alright in single player. For multi you'll have to use 7.
