I've had this installed for some time and it was working fine. However when trying to play it today for the first time in months I thought it was continually crashing upon launch (black screen). After trying multiple times I realized it wasn't crashing, it was taking an extraordinarily long time to load (meaning about 5 minutes). Then after finally getting into the main menu it took literally 10 minutes to load the map after which I was greeted with completely unplayable freezing in game. Anyone encountered this?

Any windows updates recently? I'd steer clear of any MS updates which include your video card...

No, nothing currently overclocked. I'm wanting to say when last I played it and it was working fine I was running crossfired 4890's and a Creative X-Fi. I'm now running crossfired 5870's and using the onboard sound (realtek daughtercard with Creative X-Fi emulation software). To remove the onboard sound being a possible cause I just tried it with my Logitech G35's (usb headset), same issue, so it's not a realtek bug.

This is the same Windows 7 installation by the way, so there isn't anything major that has been changed other than listed above. I am running Catalyst 10.12, I don't know if they could possibly have a bug in COD2 or not. Anyone else running 10.12, a 5870 (or two), and COD2 installed could possibly try firing it up?

Also, tried running the disc from my pioneer blu-ray drive instead of my toshiba dvd drive to make sure it wasn't a securom issue or something.
