Call me stupid...but where do I connect the FDD on a FIC AZ11 mobo.

This is my first foray into the Socket A building. Where do I connect the everday FDD to this motherboard. It seems to have these controllers, Ultra DMA 33/66; DMA Mode 2/4 support and a
Ultra ATA100 (optional with NR100). But there is no FDD controller. What do I do?

It looks like the HDD connector but shorter. 40 v. 32 pins I think...

There are three slots....and they are all the same size...I mean it...really...I've built many systems..I know the difference between the HDD and FDD IDE slots....

The slot rightmost of the board. The one the is alone. youll notice it is slightly smaller.

OK..You know what might be the problem is that I took the the FDD out of an old Pentium 133 system. Maybe they had different size cables back then....

that might have, grab the cable that came with the board and try it. like everyone else said it is the one apart from the other two.

well... all 3 1/2 inch floppy drives that I know of (since 386's) use the same fdd connector... if it is a 5 1/4 inch drive, then one end is different, but it would still be the same on the mobo side

The cables are the same as back when 386's were around, unless you have a SCSI or some sort of IDE drive. There are SCSI floppies, and IDE LS120's.

It's the black connector right of the black and white IDE connectors.
