I just fried up some bacon ,, and the usual pile of OIL came up (LARD). I've grown up eating veggy oil, despite being form China. I just decided to try Lard once in my life..
It can't hurt

and OMG,, I threw in some peppers, onions, scallions, and white cabbage,,.. it was like GODLY ,, it tasted SOOO GOOOD<< OMG,,

I'm gonna be FAT next time I post, because I'm SOOO enjoying this.. HOW COULD THIS BE BAD FOR ME<<,

I knew bacon tasted good,, i just never attempted at combineing the Bacon fat with other food that i eat,, cuz I was always told that i'll get cancer,, so it never occured to me.. UNTIL NOW>>> GOOOO CANCER

Actually I saw on Good Eats one time that lard is actually healthier than margerine or butter.

My parents were both raised during the Great Depression.

My mother saved all her bacon grease and cooked most things in it. Many people did this in the 70s and before. It was very common.

It's tastier than Crisco for fried foods AND it's basically free. She would save the crisco for deep frying and baked goods.

Oh, and guess what? Most people stopped doing this BEFORE the obesity epidemic started. The "fatty foods are evil" revolution started a full decade before the obesity epidemic.

Next time you make eggs and bacon, make the bacon first and fry the eggs to taste in the bacon grease. Spoon the grease from sides of the pan over the top of the eggs as they cook to cook them faster.

I like over easy. Do over medium for a great egg sandwich.

I grew up on this stuff and none of us were fat... not even chubby.
