So, if anyone heard about it, there were several tornadoes that hit Minneapolis and surrounding areas Sunday afternoon, one of it came just two blocks away from my house. Literally, it missed my house by about two blocks. Just drove by and saw how extensive the damage was, trees on houses and streets, it's like a lumberyard, literally now. One death (last I heard) and about twenty injuries. My daughter worked at a small convenient groceries store and it just trashed her car, looks like the car was submerged in a flood now. Debris and other stuffs cracked windows and mirror everywhere. Fortunately, it's still driveable. Will have to call the insurance tomorrow and see what they can do about it. My family was in the basement, anticipating the worst...good thing it didn't hit my house, unfortunately not everyone was as lucky. Could cost billions of dollars before everything is said and done.

Please pray for all the victims.

Glad you're ok, but you can stop exaggerating. Damage from hurricane Katrina was only 1 billion and Ivan was just under 2 billion. One little tornado won't be near that much.

edit* maybe my numbers are off. The article I read was referring to damage to insured property. I'm seeing different numbers all over the place though. I still don't think 1 tornado could cause billions of dollars in damage.

Glad to hear you & daughter are okay. Tornadoes are scary & bizarre things. I don't ever want to be close to another one (originally from Ohio, where they are common).

Good to hear you and your family are ok. It missed us here in Brooklyn Center. We did get some hail though. Good thing THIS was the exception and not the norm for hail today.

Glad to hear you're okay. As far as a billion in damages, it would take the complete destruction of 1000 million dollar homes to equal a billion dollars. Or, 10,000 hundred-thousand dollar homes. I don't think one tornado is going to pull that off.
