Pertinent excerpt......

Opponents are confident that the more the voters learn about the spending cap, the less likely they will be to support it.

Coupal and other conservatives are concerned that approval of the spending cap will trigger about $16 billion in additional taxes beginning in July 2011 and continuing, in most cases, until 2013.

The budget agreement signed last month calls for a one-cent increase in the sales tax, a hike in the vehicle licensing fee, a boost in the income tax rate and reductions in the dependent tax credit. If the spending cap doesn't pass, the new taxes expire in 2011. But if it's approved, the revenue measures are extended.
<----- Yes, you heard correctly.....if this POS passes, the ass-raping of California's middle class continues for another TWO YEARS!!!

And all of this in the midst of this country's worst financial depression since.......well........the great depression!!!

The illegals? American flight out of that state is quite extraordinary.

To the OP, California's entire government is the following socialist plan: "See hole, dig deeper".

Right now California leads the nation in Unemployment and its going to get worse.

Thank God I do not live in California and I am certainly no Schartenagger fan. But blaming Schartnager for California woes is about as valid as tossing Grey Davis many years ago.

Oh well, maybe every American politcian deserves that reality check, as they may wake up one morning, look in the mirror, and see a goat.

- increase in the sales tax
- a hike in the vehicle licensing fee
- reductions in the dependent tax credit

These hurt the poor more than anyone else.

hmm, they seem to be trying to stop Digging by actually raising the $$ required to cover Expenditures. That may not mean Low Taxes, but it does mean Prudent Fiscal Policy. Take your pick.
