Peace symbol-wearing Muslim girl to Trump: I heard you wanted us to wear badges so I chose one for myself

oung Muslim woman is being commended for writing an open letter to GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump blasting him for saying Muslim Americans should be tracked by the government and have special identification.

Marwa Balkar, 22, of the Southern California city Corona, posted the letter last week, and since then it has garnered more than half a million “likes” on Facebook, including from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Balkar posted a picture of herself wearing a peace symbol on her shirt.

“We are still Americans, and I feel like if he’s running to be the leader of our nation, he shouldn’t be alienating us,” she told ABC7.

Balkar said Trump has yet to respond.

“I heard you wanted us to start wearing ID badges, so I decided to choose one for myself. I am not easily identifiable as a #Muslim just by looking at me, so my new badge will let me display proudly who I am. I chose the peace sign because it represents my #Islam,” she wrote. “I heard you want to track us as well. Great! You can come with me on my Cancer Awareness walks at the local middle school, or you can follow me to work where it’s my job to create happiness. You can also see how my local mosque makes PB&J sandwiches for the homeless and hosts interfaith dinners where everyone is welcome.”

Her post was also shared more than 150,000 times and received more than 1,000 glowing comments.

“Marwa you have more love and compassion and integrity in your heart than Donald Trump has and we can only pray that one day his eyes and ears will be opened to the truth,” one woman wrote. “Good on you for being a remarkable human being Bless you heaps.”

Balkar told ABC she’s gotten messages of support from all over the world.

I didn't associate her with terrorism, I said her social media whining means nothing because we have no clue who or what she is anyway. She makes claims about her actions, but I have no idea if they are true or not.

The Bible is just as incompatible with a "free society" as the quran.

All old texts, if fervently adhered to literally are incompatible with free society. The difference is that people who follow other religions have moved passed that stage (for the most part), while those who follow islam have not.

The founding text of the religion is not the problem, it's how the followers behave. I don't care what the text says, I care how about what the followers do, the proof is in the pudding. Islam is simply not compatible with free societies, because its followers can't accept that others should have the right to mock / blaspheme / ignore / insult their religious symbols in a free society.
 
They made a deal for a wall 30+ years ago. If Trump gets in I believe I’ll see it before I die. For this alone I'm voting for trump because it will be good for the country. A strong military is also going to be required soon.

ISIS/Al Queda/Etc are cults. They do not represent the vast majority of Muslims any more than the KKK, Jim Jones, or West Burrow represent the Christian faith. As you say, any religion can be twisted. Roughly 10 million Muslims live in the US and nearly all of them are doing quite well in a "free society" as you say.

As for a strong military, we spend as much on the military as the next ten countries combined. We have as many super carriers as all other countries combined. We have enough nuclear weapons to destroy the world. I think we are set.
