California should secede

1. The rest of you guys wouldn't have to listen to us pretentious a-holes blabbering anymore about how much better than you we are (a lot, if you were wondering).
2. We wouldn't have to keep telling you guys how much cooler our state is.
3. The rest of the U.S. is just holding us back anyway.
4. We could annex Mexico and Canada, and be cooler AND bigger!
5. Since the Democrats would lose like half of their constituency, the U.S. could elect some crazy fascist so that CA would have an excuse to invade. Then the rest of America could just work their butts off in crappy weather while we just hang out in the sun and have a great time! ...oh, wait.

No, I'm not. California is such a prosperous state in large part because it is the gateway to the United States on the Pacific side. I always laugh when silly Californians say that California has the Xth largest economy in the world, as if California exists on its own and the rest of the United States is separate? EVERY states benefits from being a part of the United States. I don't think any state, if it existed on its own and was never part of the U.S., would be as successful as it is today.

But hey, go ahead and secede, we all laugh at everything else you do out there.

Without California you wouldn't have some of (and THE) largest ports in the USA. You wouldn't have the largest military installation in the world. You would be out a lot of oil, fubar on food, and you'd be bored out of your minds without Hollywood

We'd simply move the Aircraft carriers down to Mexico and up to Canada and take over the entire Pacific coast. While you guys are all whining about how much you miss us we'd all be on our own beaches drinking margaritas. I say we all get a mile of beach. Will that work?

Can't argue with a lot of those points, but does CA really have all that much oil? I always thought that Alaska and Texas were #1 and #2 respectively. Hollywood sucks anyways.
