ON MSNBC now it will go forward Court of appeals has overturned the 3 judge panel's ruling to put the election off till next year. Also Supreme Court is Doubtful to get involved in this State election.

Update: ACLU will not move for Supreme Court action in California recall. Looks like it's on for the 7th for good :D

Wow, I can't believe the 9th Circuit Appeals Court actually made the right decision on this. Could it be a trend? Nah, I doubt it.

So CA gettimg a Liberal Republican Governor would be good for the country? Why weren't you guys complaining when the CA Republican Party screwed the Pooch by Nominating Simple Simon over Davis ensuring that Davis would win the Election? If the clueless Republican party would have nominated Riordon instead he would of handily defeated Davis and California would have a Moderate Republican Governor with an idea of how to run things instead of Ahhhhnold, a Rockefeller Republican (another term for Liberal Republican)

I'm not excited about Arnold and don't know if he'll be very good. I do know that he can't be worse than Davis and I know my guy, McClintock, has no chance whatsoever in this hippy commune we call a state.

RD because if it can happen there it can happen in a state near you. Makes it relative to all citizens. Plus We all have to listen to all the News and now we will all be hit with intense coverage til Oct and a lil beyond... agreed?

I was against the recall because I knew it would make dirty Davis desparate enough for votes that he would succumbed to special interests (like illegal immigrants) and approve of stuff he normally would have not done.....DAMN the republicans and Davis.

But now that it is on......I hope Davis loses....and is NOT replaced by a damn republican.

LOL. I find that Mass is a lot more liberal than Ca. The only real Liberal Areas of CA besides San Francisco and cities with State Universities are the higher income more affluent areas. Most of Central CA is Moderate to Conservative and San Diego and Orange County is "Rush" Country.

The Problem with California Politics, much like politics nation wide, is that the extremists of both parties are in control of them. Right now the only Politicos that reflect the true nature of the Ca voter are the Moderate Republicans. Unfortunately the Republican Leadership in CA seems to be toeing the line of the National Party and refuses to support them over the "Red Assed" Conservatives which is why they can't win the Senate seats or the Governor position without shenanigans like this recall.

Issa is so FOS. And not to put too fine a point on it but I think you have a little poo on your shoes as well. If Arnold gets elected but cannot navigate Sacramento, then the power balance shifts from a somewhat moderate Democrat to the clearly liberal legislature. The GOP's best chance at a win is for McClintok to drop out. The best chance for CA to win is for the recall to fail or for Schwarzenegger to drop out.

The GOP needs to take a hint for future elections and nominate competent, electable candidates like Ueberroth, Riordan, etc. Schwarzenegger is electable but demonstrates nothing resembling competency to deal with CA's issues. McClintok is not only competent but he's uniquely qualified to deal with Sacramento . . . unfortunately, he's a hard pill for the Bay Area (and some areas of SoCal) to swallow.

Court of appeals has overturned the 3 judge panel's ruling

Unanimous decision by the 11-member en banc panel. Probably why the ACLU decided not to appeal to the USSC.
