All I care is Arnold will veto any new tax laws the communist state congress will try to pass.

WORD!

And you can just hear Arnold saying: "Terminated." when he vetoes those babies.

On the topic, the other people running against Arnold were idiots and everybody knew they were. They didn't really have a chance. Part of Arnold's appeal is that he's a Republican, most republicans in CA are extremely anti-democratic because they look over at the hippies in Berkeley and would never agree with them. Also, Arnold appeals to a lot of the Democrats with the Maria Shriver/Kennedy connection.

California is almost like a country on its own. 30 million people divied up among several groups. You have the big hot shots in downtown SF/LA, the young college students making up the biggest public university system in the country, the farmers living in rural areas encompassing about 90% of the state by area, the liberal whackos in parts of SF, Santa Cruz, Berkeley, etc..the conservatives making up most parts of Orange County, the big "minority" immigrants who come here legally and not so much, and that small area referred to as tinseltown.

There's no way to generalize the state as a whole. It usually will without question elect a democratic senate and president, but within the state votes are more conservative. The initiatives to raise taxes through cigarettes and on oil companies failed yesterday, and in the governor's office we've had Republicans Arnold, as well as Pete Wilson and Ronald Reagan over the years..both of which are your typical right wing politicians..and the one democratic governor we've had in recent years was ousted and replaced by Arnold.

All in all then, it's a really mixed bag all around.

LOL @ "Terminated" comment. HAHAHA

I think Arnold is doing a really nice job in CA. He's a fresh face in politics. I was a bit annoyed that his propositions didn't go through last year. Why are so many here so short sited?
One thing that's I find interesting about our Governator is that he's probably the most left republican. I kind of like it, hehe. Good balance. I hate both ends of the extremes anyways.

And ya, take note of Syringer's comment. California is extremely multicultural + multipolitical.

what does your comment have anything to do w/ syringer's observation? The person who's adding more crap to the pile of poop, from an observer's standpoint, is you.

He was a pot smoking, medical enhancing (at least back in the day roids where strickly given by docs) body builder who liked to stir it up a little. I doubt anyone who lived that kind of lifestyle in the past could be nothing short of a left wing republican.

Arnold says he has his own agenda and doesn't follow the Bush agenda plus he's a big name person and CA folk love their celebrities.

He fired everyone though and brought in Bushies. That's partly how he won, but then again Bush has genius people working for him.

A year ago Arnold would have lost. He was taking a real polarizing and hard line approach towards the CA legistlature and trying to ram his propositions through. After they were not passed, he changed his tone and went back to the compromising consensus maker he said we would be when first elected. Angelinas never brought anything to the table.

I think his proposals were exactly what California needed quite honestly. They went down in flames because of the powerful unions that really run this state. He had no choice but to compromise at that point. At least he tried to change things.

I think the propositions he brough in were freaking good. I don't know how they failed. Honestly, it's because of the idiotic unions. Sorry, but if you took a good look at those propositions a few of them were the right thing for the state.

I may be a Republican and I voted for Bush, but when it comes down to propositions, I find myself in the majority most of the time. Dems and Republicans agreed on quite a few propositions this time, and most of hte propositions I voted for went my way, or they went really close.

Sure I go to Berkeley, and I saw the sheer retardedness of people voting against Arnold's propositions last year simply because it was from Arnold. The reasons were almost absurd and if anyone did any research, they would show that the propositions would do them some good. Oh well. GG money idiots.

Good thing the Governator was re-elected. Angelides was an idiot.

Um, I said I thought the propositions Arnold had on the ballot in his special election were a good thing for the state. I voted yes on them too BTW.

We are in complete agreement on that.

BTW-I'm registered a republican but I'm a pretty moderate republican. I did not vote for Bush a second time.

Also Angelides biggest thing against Arnold was that he was the same as Bush, which everyone knows is just not true at all. I never understood why he even tried that approach because it seemed even the dumbest people knew Arnold does not = bush.

I have been happy with Arnold's job so far and have seen no reason to replace him. Only people who seem to be against him are the really hardcore Democrats (most of my friends)

<--independent
