I beg to differ. So much rain in Berkeley :(

Oh come on. It rained what... 4 days in a row? 5 days? Not even stormy rain, it was only about 2 inches according to KTVU news. And that's after a month or so of no rain. You don't know how much I've been wanting rain because teh slopes in Tahoe are just hard and lacking snow. When did it rain before last week? Finals week from the first semester? Seriously, we have a drought here or something.

Yeah. But it all depends on what you consider exciting.
I work in SF so its a 45 min ride by Caltrain to work. I can go down to Santa Cruz, Monterey and the adjacent areas down south. I sometimes head for fishing up the north coast along the Marin coastline to Point Reyes so that is accessible to me. Pescadero/Bean Hollow/Half Moon bay are all close from Sunnyvale.
Sunnyvale has great places to eat. If not you can go west to Cupertino. Lots of Japanese, Chinese and other restaurants nearby. There's a Fry's about 10 min in every direction.
So if you consider partying and bar hopping exciting, then yes its pretty damn boring. I don't happen to care about those things so its an ideal place for me to live.

California has three asshole cities, which are known as Stockton, Lodi, and Merced.
Combined, they controll more garbage, puke, waste of skin people, than the entire USA.

You don't like Merced because it doesn't have any bars that open up at 6 in the morning.

Merced is a white upper middle class community for the most part, it's the outlying towns that might resemble Stockton, Lodi and your neighborhood.

I knew you would be along, and since I knew you used to live in Merced, I posted what I did. I doubt Stockton and Lodi resemble my neighborhood. Have you ever been to Granite Bay? ;)

Naw I've never even heard of it. Nice place?

When I visited Merced last Jan I couldn't believe all the big homes with the big prices. I remember when it use to be a refuge for those from the Bay Area who wanted a nice home for a reasonable price.

Actually, Granite Bay is just another "burb", of the Sacramento area. Not really white, just few, or no blacks. We have plenty of Hindu, Iranian, and Afghans here. Lots of nice people here, but they all still drive into the city, most of them. I'm glad I have no commute. :)

Ah yes, Granite Bay and Folsom Lake. :) When I was a youngster growing up in Sacto we used to cut class and go out to Granite Bay/Folsom Lake. Great times were had. ;)
