Flat rate local residential service (unlimited local calling, not including calling features and the such) for me is $17 through Verizon ($25 after basic fees/taxes), while it is $10 through SBC ($17 after basic fees/taxes) for my friend who lives 20 minutes away. Why such a big variation between companies? How much do you other Californians pay?

I pay about $3 with verizon... low income rate (college student)

I get: unlimitted incoming and 60 outgoing local calls per month

good enough for me

By the way my zip is 90024

i think we pay 20 something per month, no long distance, local only, but all we wanted it was for local calling and our DSL.

we use verizon because we have noooooo choice.... verizon is our only carrier around here.
