California destinations

I'm taking a road trip next week from Tacoma, Washington, down to Southern California. I'm planning on going to San Fransisco and Yosemite, but any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you taking 101 or I-5? If you go on 101, you'll be headed through Humboldt, Mendocino, and Sonoma, and you'll pass not too far from Napa. Humboldt is redwoods, Mendo, Sonoma, and Napa are vineyards. Drop in and go wine tasting. Check out the trees (40 mins off the freeway in the Ukiah area, if you know where you're headed, is Montomery Woods, a really gorgeous place to go for a hike.) In SF, check out the Exploratorium, that can be fun, and walk around Golden Gate Park and the Palace of Fine Arts. Drop down to the Marina and check it out. Visit Ghiredelli Square and get some chocolate (there's also a neat photo place there, sells all sorts of prints of old photographs.) Visit Monterey and check out the Aquarium, and look into Carmel - it's beautiful.

Yeah he's from Tacoma not Podunk Indiana, You think he's never seen office buildings with parking lots full of cars before?

With the current employment scenario, you're lucky if the parking lot has ANY cars in it.....
