It was already decriminalized, but you would get a misdemeanor on your record. Now it is just an infraction...like speeding.

so let me get this straight... its no longer a criminal offense to posess MJ... but if you get caught with it... you get a fine?

still sounds criminal to me.

If the commerce clause could be used for pot, why did we need the 18th amendment for alcohol?

The Commerce clause has been used very loosely to allow the federal government to gain more power against the states for a long time now.

The Democratic legislature had nothing to do with it. How predictable of you.

Hint: Not one Republican voted yes on SB 1449. Only one Democrat voted no.

Seeing how he could have vetoed it (he is against Prop 19), I am giving him credit.

Uh forgetting Arnold aren't we? The dude had to sign it in. Not to mention he's been leaning more and more towards the legalization group as the years have gone on in his term.
