Atleast California doesn't get many hurricanes and tornados.

Many? We get no hurricanes. I hear of a water spout every few years but we never get tornados either, at least not here in San Diego.

It doesn't rain in So Cal from April until November. We might see an inch or less of rain during that period.

Normal California summer weather

I can picture Mr Schwarzenegger going on TV and saying "It's not a drought" ala it's not a tumor.

I used to live in Rochester. Lake effect snow wasn't as bad as Buffalo.

yep sound great to me :D

Funny, I thought (by area) NY had more of the first three. And as far as heat, that varies by location. In SF it's f'ing hot when it his 80. Swimming in Lake Tahoe doesn't happen, it'll freeze your nads.
Hot at 80?!?!

Fvcking HOT

And if you think it's not going to break 100 during a few of those days your nuts, plus humidity.

It's getting hot in texas now, been a mild summer so far, though.

I lived in Buffalo most of my life, canadaigua for some of it and I'm currently in the Syracuse area.
Yes, Buffalo gets some impressive early season lake effect snow, but the syracuse area blows it away overall.

I was truly impressed with the snow this region gets.

Like I said, it varies by location. Death Valley holds the record for the highest temps iirc. Something like 35 days over 100F and 129F. Feel free to look them up because I don't care what he actual numbers are.

I think Syracuse did get more snow this year than Buffalo actually. I remember reading that and laughing my ass off. I lived with the cold NY winters for 23 years.

I used to crew on a 30' Pearson out of Sodus Bay. I miss some things about NY. All the lakes, the fall, cross country skiing, the Buffalo Bills. :D

it's all about location. SF is usually freezing save a few days in the summer and early fall, since its right on the water and the fog rolls right on in to blanket everything and cool it down. my aunt lives in the sunset district, practically two blocks from the beach, so its always overcast there. my grandma used to live near chinatown/north beach, and it was usually nice but would be windy and cool. then she moved out towards south SF and its always friggin windy and cold there.

its hilarious seeing tourists in SF. they assume SF is the typical CA city - nice and sunny. they all freeze their asses off in their shorts and tanks. the SF merchandise vendors must get good business. hehe.
