California cell phone ticket, will your insurance increase

Perfect driving record so far, stupid in law call me while I drive to them. I was stupid enough to pick up the phone and CHP pull me over for a ticket with 23123 violation code.

Have AAA and the agent told me it has no point at all... does that means my rate won't go up and I can't / shouldn't go to traffic school?

first offence is just fine, should be about 75 i think with all the fees tacked on.

Its such BS, I see CHP/cops talking on their phones and driving all the time. In fact, I think I see more people driving with their phones now than ever

It will depend on your insurance company. I got a rate hike for a couple non moving violations with one company, which really pissed me off.

You should be fine though, most companies won't touch you for the first ticket

Friend of mines has 3 or 4 cell phone tickets. His insurance didn't budge at all.
