California Car Duster

Anyone know if the California Car Duster is worth getting? My brother just bought a '69 Camaro SS and said that's what he wanted for his birthday. I was also thinking of getting one for my boss to use on his SRT8 Charger. They any good?

I've been using one forever and it's works just as advertised. I've tried cheaper versions but none has worked as well.

cali water blade is clutch. don't settle for imitations. warning: odds of scratching car very high if you don't know what you're doing.

That reminds me, I need to put mine back in the car...took it out when moving stuff, never put it back in.

Any other recommendations over the CCD?

meguiar's microfiber towels

6 bucks a pop though when I checked 3 years ago lol

The water blades are awesome. The plastic handle on mine cracked off after about 4 years.. I'd say they are made pretty well for $25.

I know its off topic 😀

I would never put a duster to my car...you're asking for micro-marring. The parafin wax in the Cali Car Duster is not going to protect your car from scratches if it picks up a nice rock/pebble while you're wiping it down.

I think dusting has what kept my car cleaner, longer which means less unnecessary use of water to wash the car. That is if can stick to religiously dust it every single day.

Oh shit, this is about the CAR duster hahaa. I thought we were talking about the mini one that I use for the interior.

Yeah, if you're anal as shit about your car OR have a black car I'd never use it on the exterior. If you don't give a fuck and just want to keep your car dust free then it's doable.

People need to understand though, it's a DUST remover, not a DIRT remover.

Accumulated dust turns into dirt. If you keep removing the dust, the chance of dirt on your car accumulating falls. Hence why you would need to wash the car less. It's kind of like an investment to save water, hah.

a couple of personal details that does my can and their own cars use this on their BLACK cars and my black car as well. It does a great job if the car has been waxed. Since i dont own one i cant tell you how it works on normal black cars. But i think it should be the same effect.

Very true. I think the key for using a duster is having a good coat of wax on, to use NO pressure (ie, let the fibers droop on the paintwork), and be sure to make sure that what you're dusting is in fact dust. Any rocks or pebbles should not be dusted over. Also, any pollen should not be either as pollen is VERY abrasive.

I think my biggest concern is with people using it improperly and not cleaning it all the way.

Been using mine since 1990 and it's still going strong. If you want proof of it's effectivness just go to any car show and see what they are using.

i love it. i gave up on caring about micro scratches. i have a couple dozen rock chips from highway driving.. i gave up. haha. but when the pollen comes, i can just wipe it down. i love the tiny interior one too.
