First let me say WOW!!!!!! What a SWEET monitor.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR HELPING ME SELECT IT.

I was wondering if someone could recommend a program/utility to properly align not only colors but everything else on the monitor?

It would be nice if you could name a FREE :) one also.

Thanks,

Mitch

Just play with the buttons; they work that way :)

Glad you are enjoying your monitor; I have one too!

If you go to the KDS site: www.kdsusa.com they offer a program called ColorMatch that will allow you to set your setting for online browser for free but the program that sets up the monitor for everything costs some money. You may try the free one and see how you like it.
Don't forget to go to the site and look for "freebies". They have some neat wallpapers with the KDS logo, although they don't have any Avitron ones yet.

Either DisplayMate, or the Nokia test linked above (it's a shareware version of DisplayMate IIRC). I find the most useful part of either test is the contrast adjustment setting.

Hey mitchelt,

Where did you buy the monitor from, anyway? When was it manufactured? What video card do you have?

THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE TIPS!!!!

Lore,

I have no clue as to when it was manufactured....why do you ask?

I purchased it from OUTPOST.COM, $750 (free overnight shipping) via EBATES.COM (5% rebate).

The monitor is hooked up to a Matrox G400TV.

The monitor is amazing, I can crank it up to 2048x1536 and it is still crystal clear, granted the text is tiny. I love the higher resolutions seeing it gives me a lot of space to work on graphics.

Later,

Mitch

mitchelt:

If you look at the back of the monitor, you'll see a serial number - if you give that # to me via Private Message I'll be able to figure out when it was made. I'm just curious - I wanted to know what the latest ones in the distributor warehouses were.

Speaking of manufacture dates. I just received a KDS AV-195TF from Onvia. The date of manufacture on the back of the monitor is January 2000. Isn't this kind of an old unit? I heard that these monitors had more issues last year than the ones that are being produced now (I do have some problems with the upper right portion of the screen being dark - almost looks like the inside of the glass is dirty, I can actually see a verticle lighter colored narrow "streak" running through this darker area).
