Hi all,

I might be in the wrong forum, but I figured if any group calibrates their monitors, it would be here :)

I've gone ahead and used Dispcalgui and a Spyder4 Express, but this is my result with a U2312.

Color temperature was set to 6500k, white level was set to 150 cd/m2, gamma 2.2 and the quality was set to high. Beyond that, everything was at default settings. It looks like my grays are what's way off - what do I need to do to correct this?

Thanks!

Do you not have the Spyder software? It will give suggested settings.
6500k is too high - try 5500k
150 is high - try 120 but this depend on you lighting conditions.

I have the spyder software...which is pretty awful for the express version. The result it gave also did NOT look good. I'll try for 5500k, though I've read on a bunch of sites that 6500k is best. Same with 150 - a lot of "guides" seem to say you need to be above 140?

I have the full version so I can not compare. 6500k would represent a very bright sunny day. 5800k is the Datacolor recommened setting. 150 cd will set the brightness of your display. If the room is VERY bright that may be fine. I find 120 (which Datacolor recommends) to be fine, and sometimes almost too bright. (working at night)
