Calibrated tv but still doesn't look right

Hey guys.
I have an LG 32 in 1080p tv. I have my ps3 hooked up to it. I play extensively but I saw footage of games that I've played online and they look much better on my 900p pc monitor than on my tv. Colors, lighting and contrast, all look better on my pc/phone. I got a blu ray calibration disc, put it in my ps3 and calibrated it to the best of my ability but it still doesn't look as good as I've seen online.
Has anyone calibrated a tv using a blu ray disc and swears by it? Can anyone share with me their experience with calibrating and how to do it right?

If you're not used to seeing an actual calibrated display then it is possible that things may seem worse at first but in reality the uncalibrated displays are just over saturated and/or crushing white/black levels. That is of course assuming you calibrated it properly.

what mode is your tv on? i know that i can't get my game mode to look the same as my movie watching mode. it simply can't get the same. my game mode doesn't look as "real" as my movie watching mode.

any chance you have it in game mode?

It's in "expert" mode. I needed it there in order to use the built in color filter which helps set colors correctly.

always start with Movie mode then make adjustments from there. Movie mode is the most accurate, so use it for all inputs (tv, game console, blu ray player, etc.) Then use a calibration disk and adjust your contrast, backlight, brightness, etc.

My new Samsung 4k TV is like this. Movie mode with some settings from a review site make movie mode look really good with very accurate colors. When I turn on game mode a lot of those options are gone in favor of less processing of the video for a lower input lag.

Unless you're using a colorimeter, you're not really calibrating your display.
