Calibrate Monitor for multipel sources

I am looking to try and calibrate my monitor, but need it to be calibrated for multiple input sources like a blu-ray player or games console. Obviosuly a calibration solution that operates using Windows color profiles will nto work for this. I would need something that reads the output from the screen then walks me through manually adjsuting the actual RGB values in the display hardware itself to ensure the value displayed is the value being output by the source.

Does anyone know of a hardware/software combination that does this, or am I vastly ignorant of how calibration works?

I think most calibration devices will help you do that. Certainly my i1 Display Pro has a GUI that lets you adjust the RGB controls to get the colour temperature close to what you want. Even if the bundled software can't do that, there is 3rd-party software that will, like dispcalGUI.
