Calculus Question: What is a Riemann Sum (in relation to integration)

The integral is the Riemann Sum as delta (the width of the "slice" under the curve) approaches zero.

It's how they start you out in Calc. First they teach you how to do Riemann Sums to find the area under a curve and then they teach you the much shorter and easier way.
