Calculators on Physics SATII?

I am taking the Physics SATII, and was wondering if calculators are allowed? I can;t find any specific info on the collegeboard website about it, and my teacher is clueless.

I believe you can only use one for Math I/IIC.... They didnt let me use one for Chem either, but it wasn't really needed...

although I don't remember 100%, I don't recall being able to use it. Most of the questions were theoretical anyway, and if they weren't, they had pretty round numbers. I never really studied for it and made a 700 anyways.

Okay, I am studying for the first time now (have gotten fives on all my practice AP's before that test). I'll let you know how I do on the practice ones in the book.

You don't need a calculator for the physics SATII and you can't use one. It's easy. I got like one or twowrong without even taking Physics II. I studied one of those books a little though.

You can't use and won't need a calculator for the Physics SAT2. I took that, without studying, and pulled a 750. A lot of qualitative questions and if it was quantitative they were easily manipulated numbers. It wasn't too bad - the bell curve is very generous, you can get a lot wrong/not answer a lot and do well. I don't even think I did the last 6 questions and I know I skipped about 4-5 more and I'm sure I got some wrong.

Thanks everyone for answering. Zippy, with my luck, the bell curve will hurt me. On the SATI Math section I got a 740. The funny thing is I only got 2 questions wrong, and omitted zero. So I lost 60 points for 2 questions.

It was easy, I pulled a 790. I looked over a review book but it SUCKED. I wrote to the editor because the thing was full of math errors, and some were laughable, like saying 1/2 = 1 and no, I am not joking.

Heh, that's similar to me. I got a 730 on the Math SAT1 and only got 3 wrong, also omitted zero. Oh well. 😛 But yeah, you can omit/get a good deal wrong and do very well on a lot of SAT2s - most notably, in my experiences at least, Physics and Math2C.

I noticed errors too in my Princeton book (which actually shocked me because they are the most recommended. They said 15/3 = 15. I am not going to write to the editor, unless I get paid. It is his/her job to fix errors.

LOL, I can't believe they skrewed both of us in math. English was my own fault (580, so a total 1320. Same exact score as PSAT, math went +50, english -50). Will be working on that for Octobers test.

Hah, doh! I got a 750 on verbal actually. I don't really know how, since I'm a math and science person primarily, but hey, I'll take it. 🙂 I got a really (relatively) crappy score on both on my PSATs. I was also sick when I took them, so oh well.

Well, I'll be happy with 640-660 Verbal. I know I am not good in eglish, but I was hoping for about 1400 cumulative.
