Calculator gurus, here's a question......

I'd been contemplating of buying an HP49G or 48GX over the past 3 months now. I know HP has discontinued making the 49G but one of the guys in my class told me that next month a new one will come out which is an upgrade from the 49G. I went to HP website but didn't see any related link/topic. How true is this?
