I think a novice at home recording can expect to spend quite a bit of time learning this program before they get the full value from it despite what the publisher might claim. It looks to be somewhat comparable to Apple's Garageband3 but maybe not as easy to use. But the price is right and they throw in quite a few extras (although the included mp3 encoder is only a 30 day trial).
