I remember years ago most of the karate/judo fighters getting a solid beat down from strong guys that could hold on to others. The skills that karate brings seems to add no value to a MMA fight

unless your name is Machida

No.

Judo is wrestling. Fedor and Karo are very good examples of how good Judo is in MMA.

Karate is not the most powerful striking art but some forms are quite good. GSP and Machida are very good examples how how Karate can still be effective in MMA.

Striking and grappling are not more effective than the other type of fighting. Both together are far more than the added sum as such.

Fighters with a powerful wrestling base often do well in MMA because they can control where the fight goes whether on the feet or on the mat.

Thank you for the explanation.

She is a great female fighter, cyborg may prove she's at least human. But she is only a great female fighter. If you think she'd beat any male professional fighter, you're crazy. Throws and all that do nothing if you can't follow up. And as the video showed ahe doesn't have the strength to force anything against a man, even one just laying there.

She is very skilled but she is dodging Cyborg and until she can prove otherwise she is the #2 girl in MMA.

She said she is only willing to fight Cyborg at 135 but then the name Gina comes up and she is magically willing to fight at some catchweight?

WTF?

She doesn't want to get hit, and by hit I mean destroyed. Cupcake and all the others she's fought can't hit like cyborg, and rousey fears those hands. She'll catchweight with Gina cause she thinks she will one trick another W. But Gina is no joke, never has been, never will be.

I think she could handily take out all of the listed men. She is a world-class judoka which itself has tons of chokes and debilitating joint locks, and she is also a highly-trained athlete in several other martial arts. Judo and BJJ are extremely effective against larger opponents if they are untrained in those arts.

They all would have a puncher's chance of sneaking in a knockout. That's about their only chance, IMO.

Reality is not based off your own illusions.

Floyd Mayweather has certainly done some training in various martial arts.

I didn't know running around like a little bitch was a martial art.

Yes he is a bitch but that will win him the fight against Ronda nevermind all his dirty fighting.

No compubox score, so I don't see how Mayweather could win. What's he gonna do, clinch someone with a black belt in Judo??

She was getting lit up with jabs from Meisha "Cupcake" Tate. 1 of Floyd's jabs would null every single one she landed on Ronda. *IF* she got him to the ground without eating a jab, she would absolutely arm bar him. But a single jab lands and she's done for. Considering Tate was landing a decent amount, and her striking's absolute shit Mayweather would own her 99/100. He's too fast and his jab's too powerful.

Yep. Rousey gets hit a lot because she moves in to get a take down and start grappling.

But there's a huge difference between getting hit by another woman, no matter her training, and a top male boxer.

Then you consider that he's a lot faster, quicker, and I wonder how she's going to get him on the ground in the first place, even if he didn't knock her out pretty quickly. He'd have to trip or something. He wouldn't need to hit her many times, and she's going down.

This is again, assuming you can get a man to go all-out against a woman. I think that might not be a problem with Mayweather, though.

I will say, they are doing a good job promoting Rousey and getting her name out there and in the public consciousness. There are a lot of threads just like this all over the internet. I would think that'll lead to a big increase in viewership. And they're smart...they won't let her actually fight a dude, and they'll keep her away from Cyborg, for a pretty good while. Let it build up. Rousey's popularity hasn't peaked, yet. If she fought Cyborg and lost, that'd be it.
Until someone beats her, they can keep all that B.S. up about her being able to beat a male MMA fighter and such.

I despise most of these guys just like most everyone else, but that's not going to stop them from killing Rousy, Ray Lewis and Adrian Peterson have half a foot and ~100+ pounds on her.
