Caffine is a stimulant (a CNS stimulant, but I may be wrong about that). As with just about every drug (caffine, in its pure form, is considered a drug), it affects different people to different degrees. It affects you, but you may or may not be able to notice it.

thats what i dont get, i suppose it affects you durring certain points of the day more so than others. I am a regular Mt dew drinker, and never get any stimulation from it in terms of hyperness. From this, i have built a virtual immunity to even drinks such as Bawls. However the other day i picked up some Jolt caffeine gum, and one piece sent me shakin across the room. I really do not understand it.

Not a stimulant to me......it affects me more as a diuretic. Nephrons fire like crazy.

You may not notice the effects, but caffiene increases heart rate, urine flow, and stimulates the lungs. It's used to treat some cases of asthma. You also may notice some side effects, including shakes, dry mouth, or the most common, headaches.

I'd recommend you limit your caffiene intake...

Good article on what it does:
http://health.howstuffworks.com/caffeine.htm

I personally intake insane amount of caffeine, and it has little to no effect on me anymore. I have a coffee every morning and then drink a diet Mt Dew almost every 1.5 hours, yes I am serious, i go thru around 5 a day. I also take a 'real' Xenadrine or two a day, which has ephedrine. Ephedrine is so much better than caffeine it's laughable., too bad it's illegal and I had to buy a $300 stockpile, muhuhhahhah.

If it doesn't affect you, how much do you have? Take 4 No-dozes, no effect? Probably not. A lot if peolpe thing they are "having a lot of caffeine" when they drink 1 coke or have an Americano, jesus, that's nothing.

You should seriously cut back on those drugs + the caffeine.

Taking in that amount of stimulants may really be taking a toll on your health without you knowing it. Ephedrine has been known to cause stroke and heartattacks. Add that to your daily regimen of Mt. Dews (which are known for it's high levels of caffeine) and you might be cutting your expected life expectancy by a good amount.

A stroke or a heartattack can happen in an instant regardless of you being in tip-top shape or a lardo. So please, do what you need to do cautiously :(

I have to say, I think that caffeine is mildly addicting as well, That is one of the resions people cant seam to cut the cup of coffee out of their lives. For me I hardly ever drink anything with caffeine in it.

Atomicus, methinks you need to step away from the keyboard... 1500+ posts in just over a month is a little much.

There are receptors in your brain, which a chemical you produce usually binds to. This chemical helps regulate the feeling of tiredness; when it has bonded, you feel more awake. Caffiene is nearly identical to that chemical, so binds to the same site, even if your body has pulled all of your natural chemical out because it is fatigued (and wants to sleep).

This world is more interconnected than imaginable.

I don't know why it doesn't work on you :)

Hell, the caffiene tablets I use have a warning on them. Lethal limit is about 48 of these suckas, and you can buy 48 packs.
