Caffeine makes me tired

Do you mean you feel "more tired" after the "more alert" wears off? Why do you suppose that is? You temporarily get more energy at the expense of less energy later on. The caffeine just tricks your body into working harder than it would normally, which means it has less to give later.
 
Drop caffeine and add exercise and lots of water.

<---- Caffeine-free for 17 days.  (well...did have one or two diet vanilla cokes in that timeframe) but no more multi-cokes/day.
 
Caffeine has the same effect of eating sugar, you get a rush of glucose in your bloodstream followed by overproduction of insulin leaving you to crash later and the potential for elevated insulin later in your life.
