They're all the same price at the vending machine here at work, so, does anyone know which has more caffeine?
-Starbucks Doubleshot
-Mt. Dew Amp
-SoBe (whatever their high caffeine drink is called)

While we are at it, post you favorite energy drinks. Generally I just crush up a NoDoz and mix it in with a Mt. Dew, but I'm out of NoDoz :disgust:

I tried googling it, but without caffeine my googling skills suck at 8 AM  If anyone has a link that lists the caffeine content, I'd be grateful.

If coffee is free there, drink that. It's as high in caffiene as the energy drinks usually.

If you don't like the taste, put a couple of packets of Splenda (if they have it) in your coffee. Splenda seems sweeter than regular sugar in coffee to me.

If you're not a regular coffee drinker, one cup should get you going without a problem :)

If I had to guess, I'd say the starbucks thing. I'd assume "doubleshot" was to mean a double shot of expresso, which is a lot of caffiene.

No coffee at the office. At least not free coffee. There is a coffee bar in the lobby, but they want $2 for a small cup of normal coffee. It is fair trade, organically grown coffee, and since hippies will pay a lot of money if you write that on your cups... like I said, it is $2 for a small cup of the normal coffee.

How I hate hippies, let me count the ways...

that starbux double shot canned? i'd probaby get the cheapest, probably around the same amount of caffine in each really.

as for free trade coffee, its a joke. stupid farmers flood the market and expect prices to remain artificially high through some kind of charity that exists in no other industry? wtf, f*ck them! and its ussually the latin american farmers these hippies care about. not the new vietnamese farmers that are under cutting em to death. the vietnamese farmer needs to sell his coffee too...i'll buy from whoever sells the cheapest.

its the same as with the child labor activists. why the #@% do u think children are working? their families need the money for the food:p course when they shut down the factory or get em to stop hiring, the families go hungry, and white hippie flies home on his jet feelin good.

Mt. Dew only contains around 55mg of caffeine, it really is not very much. Coke contains ~35mg. You'd get more than that from (some kinds of) tea.

No idea how much the doubleshot has. Probably 2 shots, or ~120 - 200mg. But they are too expensive.

Coffee is, by far, the cheapest source of caffeine.

Even RedBull only has ~80mg.

Tea is actually an excellent source, since it has so many other beneficial things in it, unlike coffee. Tea contains about 40mg/8oz. Better than soda, at least.

SoBe Adrenaline Rush has 80mg, SoBe NoFear has 158mg.

yea, 7/11 has a half decent coffee selection now, even got flavour syrup dispensors and stuff too. and for a buck u get atleast as much caffine as a dew. and for a buck 50, u get a ton of caffine. if u want starbucks, a grande is 1.55(16oz), venti is 1.65(20oz)

By means of comparison, a 7 oz cup of coffee has the following caffeine (mg) amounts, according to Bunker and McWilliams in J. Am. Diet. 74:28-32, 1979:

Drip 115-175
Espresso 100mg of caffeine
1 serving (1.5-2oz)

Brewed 80-135
Instant 65-100
Decaf, brewed 3-4
Decaf, instant 2-3

http://coffeefaq.com/caffaq.html

so u see, coffee blows dew and its 55mg away.

Sounds good, aside from charging out the @$$. They should be able to get the stuff for like $3/lb. Of your options, the SoBe (Snapple's Fire is the best surviving drink of its kind, though).
Double shot might have more, but how'd they fit that and milk in that little can? Also, while I've had it a few times, it never worked as good as even crappy coffee for me.

Tea is cool, too, but most teas won't quite give you that rush :). Hard to beat some good Oolong tea, though (Sulawesi toraja can do it easy, though).
