Caffeine Addiction

Taking a break from studying for my pcat tomorrow and downing coffee like its air makes me wonder; do i have a caffeine addiction?

How many cups of coffee do you drink a day?

I personally have 2+ cups of coffee a day and when i am at home, i drink about 3+ cups of tea daily(lipton).

I feel like i can't go without tea or coffee daily. Sometimes i would just leave my house to get a cup of coffee if i don't have anything at home.

How many is too many?

Wake up: cup of coffee
lunch: diet coke
afternoon: soda (or if im really tired, Jolt)
dinner: diet coke
evening: tea or just water

I usually have 1 large per day, plus one medium in the afternoons on weekdays.

I get headaches if I don't drink coffee. So yeah I'm probably hooked on it or whatever.

Coffee is life. I abuse caffeine regularly and I'm proud of it. I have cut down from the 20 cups a day in my twenties but, I still drink 4 or 5 at a whack. I have a pet theory about Norwegians like myself requiring caffeine to keep our hearts beating. 🙂

I generally drink a cup of coffee a day, along with one or two caffeinated sodas. I used to not have an addiction, but over the past year, I've gone a day or two without drinking any, and noticed slight headaches...so yep.

I don't drink coffee. I rarely drink soda either...somehow with the amount of water I drink, I'm almost never thirsty.

Hmmm the American Psychological Association is considering making caffiene addiction a DSM Axis I diagnosis.

There are four caffeine-induced psychiatric disorders recognized by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition: caffeine intoxication, caffeine-induced anxiety disorder, caffeine-induced sleep disorder, and caffeine-related disorder not otherwise specified (NOS).

Currently caffeine withdrawal is recognized as meriting further study by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders for DSM-IV, although research demonstrating its clinical significance means that it will likely be included as an Axis-1 disorder in the DSM-V

coffee like it's air? and not being able to go on without it? you're addicted 😀

I drink about a cup a day. On the weekends, I don't drink the stuff. Recently, a cup of tea or so a day as well. I <3 tea

After about a day of no caffeine I get a pretty bad headache. I drink 3-4 cups of coffee plus one pop during the day.

i even considered taking some caffeine pills during hardcore studying sessions and midterm times, but decided that it was an bad idea.

and caffeine doesn't keep me awake either, i often fall asleep with coffee in my hand during boring lectures.😱

edit:

anyone try coke black? its like coffee + coke in one sounds nasty but its actually pretty good. i like it, but its too expensive for my taste.

I don't touch caffeine. When I take even a tiny dose, I get a slight boost for maybe half an hour or so but then spend the next several hours feeling insanely edgy.

I drink one or two cups per day, about 1/2 gallon or more of water.

I rarely drink soda, and no liquid poison for me so I NEVER drink diet anything including splenda. I don't care what anyone says, I always taste the difference w/ diet stuff.
