Installed Caesar IV again this week after residing in the closet for too long. Everytime I sit down to play it's gauranteed 4 hours+. It may not be the best game ever but it's always been very addictive to me. I've been a fan of all the Command and Conquers but haven't explored much else. Wasn't a fan of Supreme Commander or Warhammer.

What other strategy games are out there that have good single player? The city/base building part of it is what gets me into it.

There's a "Grand Ages:Rome" coming out soon that sounds good.

As for right now, I dunno. I didn't try Simcity Societies, but that's by Tilted Mill also, so you might give that a shot.

Plebs are needed! More Plebs! I loved that game too, may have to dig and see if I can find my copy.

I would be very happy if the China game could be redone with the C4 graphics. The mechanics are really nice in that release (admittedly I barely skimmed the niles release on steam as it seemed very clunky and looked like a step back for the series). I still need to pick up a copy of the Greek one as that's the only one I haven't played since the original Ceasar.

Yeah, definitely agree. A Chinese version of Caesar 4 would be very nice indeed.

Have you tried Imperium Romanum at all? Its a decent city builder game with some lite RTS military use. Its Grand Ages: Rome's predecessor.

Honestly, I'm hoping the title 'Grand Ages' means they plan on making other titles in a franchise. Grand Ages: Thebes, Grand Ages: Baghdad, Grand Ages: Kyoto, Grand Ages: Shanghai, Grand Ages: Delhi, that sort of thing.

Who knows what they mean? I know in Spain and Italy, the game was released as Imperium Civitas 3 (Imperium Romanum 3).
