he is hoping that he wont spend more than an 8 grand difference between the SRX, and the trade in of the avalanche (GMS discount). but i think the difference may be around 10 grand.

however, i read what edmunds said about it, and other spots. everything i have read says it is a great vehicle, and at invoice price, i think it would excel in its division. does any one else have any input?

Which one is he looking at? 6 or 8 cylinder? RWD or AWD version?

Regardless of those, I find the SRX interior and exterior to look so much better than the Avalanche.

well, if he only wants to pay 8 grand, the v6 RWD would be right there, the V8 bumps the price up like 8 grand.

i'd rather get the infiniti fx45 (?)

Well we're not TALKING about the Infiniti, are we! There are an infinite (haha) number of cars that I would take before an SRX. But we're not talking about any of them.

i took it for a test drive last weekend, i loved it. it drove well, was very comfortable inside and the engine had a lot of pep, the only reason i decided against it is its probably irrespoinsble for a 25 year old to spend 45K on a car vs 25K - 30K

yea, but my dad can get invoice price on any GM car basically, whatever price GMS gives us we get no haggling. like the SRX is 15% off sticker or so. i know it is right at invoice. and at invoice, i dont think the FX is worth the premium.

SRX's are pretty good I hear. It won a recent comparo as well.

From what I have read on it, it seems to be very performance oriented. And that sunroof is just plain cool.

so, since i am asking about my fathers choice of vehicle, i am GM's bitch?

hmm, if i could get sticker price on any GM vehicle, i would get GM also, but since i dont think i am covered as it is my grandfather who worked for them, i will look elsewhere.

but you cant beat getting a $40K vehicle for <$35K when every vehicle it compares to is $45k and above.

yea, you are deffinately nissan, and apples bitch. so cool.

and we have never had a single problem with any of the GM vehicles we have bought. sure, there is a tailgate strap thingy recall on my fathers avalanche, but that is minor. hmm, nope no other problems with the vehicles we have bought new. now, the toyota Rav 4 my mother has, SUCKS i cant stand it. anytime i have the AC on and try to accelerate, it takes about 10 seconds for it to rev, and then try to go. it just wont go. nissan i have never driven.

the srx seems to win against everything the magazines have thrown at it. from the FX35 to the cayenne. i'd hit it.

I don't follow the SUV scene all to much, but rode in a friends new SRX today and it seriously kicked ass. The owner was extremely happy with the purchase. It rode smooth, had some pep to it. I love how its a smaller suv. I'm used to my mom's forester. And the interior of the SRX was also top notch. It is very rare that I would compliment an suv.

The Cayenne in the SRXs price range isn't the one that we lust for. Bring on the Cayenne Turbo. :D
