I'd think GM would prefer to sell these than the volts if they can sell as many as they can make. If they are going to be limited by supply on components they'd want to put those components towards the cars with the highest margins. A Cadillac version should have higher margins than a chevy.

However, GM has hyped up the Volt and they'll have to follow through. For PR reasons if they can only swing one hybrid car they'll have to make it the Volt. If they fall through on that it would be a PR nightmare.

Ford has shown it can make good vehicles, GM has a few new models that are competitive and appears to have more in the pipeline. Chrysler hasn't shown anything lately that's really showed they can compete. If one had to go they'd get my vote.

I really like the look, then again I'm a CTS owner so I may be biased by the design.

Looks absolutely fantastic...of course the interior is certainly just concept and would never make it into a production version if that ever happened. I love the look though...very well designed. The Volt cant' come soon enough for GM. I'm pretty impressed by what Honda is putting out with their latest Insight for the money. starting at $18K, all the safety features you're looking for in a modern car, but still pulling 51mpg (according to the edmunds review). Damn impressive for the money (even if it is ugly compared to the Volt or this concept from Cadillac). I'm also really impressed by the new Ford Fusion as it really is supremely practical, fair priced, and gets fantastic mileage for a car that size. If the American car companies can make it through this economy hurdle...it may be the best thing that has happened to them as they are finally putting some good effort in to catch the foreign makers with great car designs/implementations.
