If you haven't heard of the Cadence Kona Challenge, check this out:

Cadence Kona Challenge

As some of you know, my ultimate personal goal is to compete in an ironman triathlon. I found out about this contest in this month's Triathlete Magazine and couldn't pass up the opportunity.

Is anyone else down for this? It'd be cool to have some AT involvement in this. 🙂

Well, I got my email and I didn't get accepted into the challenge. 🙁 My fingers were crossed so long that they've cramped.

Did anyone else try to get in on this?

Well, if your wittle fingers cwamped while waiting maybe you are not up for the challenge afterall 😛

I was hoping it had something to do with drinking Kona coffee.
Kona coffee is good stuff.

Click the link in the opening post. It would have been cool to have been accepted for the trials.

These should help with your training regimen (in addition to copious amounts of Kona coffee and thumb wrestling).

I heard rumors last time we were there that KOna wouldn't have the triathlon for very much longer.
I've seen a few articles in Triathlete about that, but the Hawaii Ironman tradition is strong already. There are better places to have the race though. Somewhere not as humid and not as expensive to travel to/stay at. San Diego and upstate NY come to my mind.
