Should be a blast . . . unfortunately, its raining. I hope it raining less at White Tanks than it is where I live. Otherwise this is going to be interesting. Bah, cloud cover will mess up the beautiful scenery too. :brokenheart:

Well, the weather cleared up nice. Blue skies and sunny.

The run was a blast, larger than the 2005 ChaCha. Someone broke the 7mi course record with a time of 39:30.

My time was 1hr 15min, a decent time considering the toughness of the course and it being my first trail run. More than one person had scrapped up legs, elbows, arms, bloodstained clothing, etc.

I found that the downhill parts were more dangerous than the uphill parts. With the uphill segments you could slow down and place your feet fairly well. Going down was a completely different ball game, you had to slow yourself down or get injured. A few people did get pulled out by the medical people with broken ankles.

However, I finished the 7mi run with plenty of gas left, meaning I need to run a longer distance next time. :)

congrats! thats quite an accomplishment Bateluer. I've always wanted to run in a marathon ever since running became a hobby of mine, though it's been almost a year since I stopped and I'm in no condition to run even a mile :).

Major dilemma is that all the runs longer than 10K are on the other side of town, with early start times. Long drive times.

i find it easier to let my body go with gravity (and take larger steps) than to try and slow myself down, when going downhill
