Ah, I come up w/yet Another Stupid Question everyday. Oh well, that's what the forums are for!
A few individuals have recommended the Cacheman program (utility?) for me to use on my box. I checked it out; it looks promising. But I've a couple of questions:
1. How do I know if I need it or not? I know a system could always be faster, but how can I tell if I would benefit from using this?
2. Does this program "take over" your system? Kinda like Norton AV? Not that NAV takes over, but it is resident and active i.e. running in the background.
3. When you install Cacheman, does it "do things" to your HD that are irreversible w/o a format? I'd hate to install it, decide I don't like it and then find that "it's permanent" unless I reformat...perish the thought. Can U say "that'll take 8 hours...?"
So, if you are using this proggy or have used it, please let me know what you think about it. I usually don't install things like this w/o researching all the implications first. Thanks much and have a nice day.
