Cacheless hard drive?

I overheard a friend yesterday mention that a new 20gig 7200rpm Western Digital drive he bought from Sam's Club was a cacheless drive. I immediately told him that was BS and he must have read something wrong, but he says that is had "Cacheless" written directly on the box.

I can't find anything on www.wdc.com that says anything about a cacheless drive, anyone know?

He is full of $hit, if it were cache-less it would not be worth a crap anyhow... More cache means more buffering which helps with speed (a layman`s term).

BTW If I remember right those were WD205BA`s and they have 2megs of cache and are 7200rpm drives (not the best but good)
 
He should pull his head out of his... well, you know. No such thing as a cacheless hard drive. My old 40 MEGAbyte WD from 1990 had a 64k cache, if I remember correctly.

an HDD without cache would suck like hell.

the cache acts as a buffer, without it, blah...
